Anybody using or used an RTA8T for a center channel?

Seriously considering building a center to better match my SDA-2B's, and seems like an RTA8T would be a perfect match. I tried to search, but could not find any relevant information.

What y'all think?

Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I think if you can find someone to split a pair of crs+'s it'll be the best match possible as they both us the same crossover, tweeter, and drivers.

    Just a thought.

    This wouldn't work.

There is something in the works, but other priorities are in the way.

Looks like a got a lead on a set of RTA8T's. Might get them this weekend.
    I'm thinking:
    - Custom cabinet with black veneer. Extra bracing, but same internal volume
    - Use the same grill as the 8T (wonder if the logo can be taken off or turned 90 degrees?)
    - Upgrade the tweeter
    - Upgrade the capacitors and resistors
    - Use the same port from the 8T

Anything else I may need to consider that I overlooked?

Why butcher a nice pair of CRS's to make a center channel when there are many other options? Plus the "SDA" portion won;t work so it's an exercise in futility.

Used the crs for my center for over a year with great results.

I have a couple extra rta 8 crossovers you can have if you need them for your project.

Thanks leroyjr1. Hold on to them for now, I'm good. I will have an extra one myself.

If this project goes well, sounds great and looks living room presentable, I may offer to build a couple more for SDA owners so RTA8T parts will be needed.
