My first car was really nice, a 75 gran torino in perfect condition, two years old, bought for me free and clear before I even got my license, no strings attached other than I take care of it. I loved that car! I noticed most of my friends who had beaters had to pay for them themselves. Most of them were unsafe with poor tires and other problems. I always thought their parents were dicks.
