I use Signal Cable risers in my rig. I don't believe they change or do anything sonically. However, it's easier to vaccuum around my speaker cables, they look cool and it's a cheap tweak. Another benefit for me is that they allow me to remove some of the weight of my speaker cables from the binding posts of my loudspeakers. I use heavy cables and this can be an issue when you're running bookies on stands and can see the weight of them pull the terminations in an uncomfortable bend.

As much as we all spend on upgrading xover's, interconnects, isolation products, room treatments and the like...what's $50? And they're shiny......OOOOHH a squirrell!
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

These will look cool and will give me some much needed wire management. Seems like a no-brainer to me considering the cost. My cables are a mess and it will be nice to get the speaker cables off the power cables.

Antny uses the Signal Cable risers. I saw them when he had his rig set-up in his old house. Don't know how they affect the sound but they did give a cool looking factor to having his heavy cables running across those inverted cups.

agreed about the whole putting stress on the terminals, and I was always wondering what people did to help it and this seems like a good trick.

and agree they would make vaccuming much easier besides the whole hey hunny can you lift up this cable, now this one, and this one.

I was mostly concerned with looking cool. I can't wait to explain this one to my non-audiophile friends; I can hear them now..."so Steve, lemme get this straight...these telephone pole looking things are suppose to make your wire sound better because your carpet's dirty?. LOL

    I don't explain anything to non-audiophiles.

    :eek:Wow! Cable elevators?!

They look like miniature porcelain insulators that you might find on high0voltage overhead distribution lines.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Exactly. If you can find those insulators, usually at flea markets and such buy them and just use zip ties to run the cables along them. I've found some vintage porcelain insulators that already had a three pole design laid in them so it was just like them, and they cost $0.25 each.

OP link doesn't work anymore, here's a new link---
Looks like they've gone up a couple bucks--but still way cheaper than buying thru an audio store:

Hmm: "Minimum Order Qty: 100." Either a group buy or you have really lots of cables :)

All higher end speaker cables are shielded against EMI

Not all my friend. When I bought my amp, they recommended unshielded speaker cables. Reality cables were of the few I found to fit the bill.

If you ever had wool carpet, you would understand why keeping them off the carpet could be beneficial. Other carpets still collect static electricity though, but not nearly as bad as wool.
