Well here's the crappy news out of Parasound.
I feel really bad that hollywood and the recording industry has created the hdmi monster so horrendous that not even Parasound can tame it to bring a good product to market.

This SUX.
Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,
Dynaudio Contour 3.3, Dynaudio Contour T2.1, Polk OWM3, Polk DSW micropro 1000 (x2),
Pioneer Kuro 50" Plasma, Phillips Pronto Control w/Niles HT-MSU.

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    What does HDMI mean anyway??

    Hi Def Mostly Intermittent?

    Handshake Definition Mostly Incomplete?

    Haphazard Definition Maybe Implemented?

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

This really is some bad news. My next 2 channel upgrades are going to be a Halo P3 preamp, and an A23 poweramp. I would have loved to eventually integrate them with a Halo series surround processor...

The older C1 and C2 are plentiful on the used market...but no HDMI or hi-res sound codecs. Hopefully Parasound will come out with something eventually.

I've gotta agree though, I'm sick of all of this HT technology becoming obsolete 6 months after you buy it.

Not only are things quickly obsolete, it seems they can't make the current tech workable. My 2009 AVR has enough hiccups to choke a pig. The manufacturers are not to blame as the content protection schemes have choked the interface to the point of not being operable.

That's the problem. The technology advances so fast, that the manufacturers are forced to rush their new products out, which may not have had all the bugs worked out yet.

That's why I find it pointless to try and stay at the absolute top of the technology in this hobby. Unless you're wealthy, it's basically impossible to keep up with everything.

Well that sucks, I have been looking forward to the c3 for over a year. Oh well, I think parasound made the right move, by the time it came out it would already be outdated. Now I'm thinking about the Halo P7, and just using the HT pass through, with my current receiver. Has anyone herd the P7?
