i am thinking of going with a projector beacues i cant get a rear 65inch into the basement. dues any one have one and what is the qualty of a front projecton tv vs a rear? and what is a good size for a front projecton. i am thinking of a sony lcd projector but dint know.

    I was thinking about the projector too. But later changed my mind because it is too expensive to maintain. You have to replace the bulb around every two years and it is about $300. Also the room needs to be absolute dark. You probably dont have this problem with your basement.
    If you decide to go with the projector, Sony does make very good projector. I heard that you can get the Sony projector at J and R for very good price.

    I too looked into a front projector, but the cost was too much. For a new HD projector I was looking at 8,000 plus 1,000 for a screen. I'm sure they can be had on e-bay cheaper, but I did not want used on a item such as this. So I bought a Mits rear projection instead for 1/4 the cost.

    Ron...wich mits did you get..... I have been looking at the 65" HD widescreens.... what series is yours? wondering the differences between the platinum and the Platinum +. Quite a price jump between the two..:p
