Not a bad start to the Masters. His best 1st round start ever here at the National. He's 2 shots off the lead.

Not as heckled as the pilot when he landed and had to talk to the local yokels who support the goodwill of the Masters. "U ina heep of trouble, boy."

I think he was on the 2nd or 3rd hole and a small plane was pulling a sign. Can't remember exactly what the sign said, but it was nothing too bad.

Rd 2, bot horrible, not great either, left a couple shots out there on easy putts. That chip he hit on 13 was one of the worst golf shots I've ever seen.

    Update:

The plane that was used for the banner ads was ordered to be repaired by the FAA. It was based in Ohio so it was allowed to fly back there for the repairs. Don't mess with the Masters, they got friends in high places. HeHe.

Its alot easier to putt/play when you are not worried about getting caught cheating by your wife. Focus!

I can't believe anybody on this forum who isn't playing at Augusta this week is criticizing Tiger's play...

He really is in the zone even with all the hoopla! Gotta hand that to him.

Tiger is four off the lead, but the three guys in front of him are very beatable. Mickelson is the one to watch. All three know that Tiger is on their heels. They will have to make shots, the game now becomes very hard. It will be interesting.

This will be one of the more interesting Sunday rounds in a while. It depends on who is hot and not. I was going to try to borrow a ticket tomorrow but I doubt I have a chance now. The weather will be perfect and the competition will be tight.

Anthony Kim just eagled, bringing him from -9 to -11, one under lead....seems the guy only hits two kinds of shots; birdies, and eagles..

Tiger isn't doing too well today.

Tiger has to absolutely kicking himself tonight. You lose the 3 bogeys early on and the 3 putt from 8 feet on 14 and the dynamic of the tournament completely changes and the outcome is at least more exciting, if not different altogether.

Still, to play as poorly as he did on Saturday and Sunday and still be in the mix, truly amazing if you ask me.

Great job Phil! Yesterday was very good with that eagle, eagle, birdie stretch...but today was one of the most impressive rounds I've seen in a while. He was saving par from everywhere and making putts like the Phil of old. That shot out of the woods on 13 to make the eagle took REAL balls.

You mean ultimately, the birdie. Still, a great shot indeed.

Tiger could take some lessons from Phil on how to love your wife. Fantastic outcome.

I was rooting for Couples or Westwood to win, but it's nice to see Phil get another one. I really do think that when he's playing his best he's legitimate competition for Tiger and really even better in some respects. He just has slot of great shots in his bag, maybe even more than Tiger. His biggest enemy is his tendency to make the big mistakes, and as long as he can avoid that I think this will be the year he can overtake the number one ranking...

I meant to say eagle attempt.

Talk about two men who are polar opposites!

Woods made a big deal out of how he was going to be more easy going on the golf-course. More respectful of the game and the fans and so on. That's not what I saw. It was that same Tiger who when his game started to go away from him, in particular in the middle of his wild round on Saturday, he started to loose it. Still, it says something about his ability as a golfer and an athlete to, go through what he's been through( self induced as it is), and come back after all that and likely a lengthy period of in-activity and be right back in the hunt - which he was for a time. No question he has immense talent and ability ON the golf course - perhaps the best of all time.

As for Phil - couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He seem like the real deal with an "awe shucks" attitude, a focus on the game but clearly his life in balance.
