I am only up through year 4 now, but the vocal quality is really crappy. The rest of the sound is fine, but the talking is just so dry and flat. I don't know if it's because they are older blu ray movies or what, but it is disappointing.

I've only seen/heard the HD-DVD versions of a couple so far, but I didn't notice anything like what you're hearing. Maybe that is blu-ray specific.

On dvd they sound fine, and on blu ray they sound ok, it's just the the vocals are pretty flat compared to other movies.

I have both the Blu Ray version and the imported versions from the UK on HD DVD, both sound well to me. I'll probably end up giving the HD DVDs away as karma.
