Ok, I really seem to have a problem letting unused gear go.
I've got stuff stashed away I'm never going to use again, but
I keep it. I'm starting to feel like one of those crazy people on
tv that horde stuff. I've let a couple of things go in the last year,
but most of that went to local polkies I know well. I do find myself
breaking it out once in a while to re-rate what's good and bad.
I almost thought about selling my set of my Bedrocks, but I put
them back into the system. And they do sound good. I guess it's
time to roll stuff out and see what happens. Now that my tube
hybrid Stax amp is running, I'm going over to head fi and dump
a bunch of stax amps. Really, I am. Maybe ........

How about a beer at your house, and you can get me going on something to setup here?

until you have to climb on top of your gear to get to a different room then you might have too much, until then enjoy!
    jk
If you lived closer I would say I'm more than willing to help you sort through some stuff!
but it is hard to give up stuff your not using, I had the problem with music gear, guitar, saxophone ect just hard to let it go even though you don't really use it anymore.

The offers still good on the Nad tuner/pre. Yours if you come get it.
    You still got my number?
Any if anyone local needs a good amp for Sennheisers, let me know.
I don't think I need three of those either!
Goal one- one set of stax headphones/energizer
goal two- one amp for my Senns
goal three- one set of 2 channel speakers
(the ones at both son's apartments don't count)
Goal 4 one Dac, one CDP
goal 5 one two channel amp -either stay 50wpc tube or go big SS.

If all goes well, I'll be giving away a bunch of fat clothes, too. Down 25lbs!

I like this thread. I have a few items in boxes in the shed that I'm sure I'll never use again one of them being a Hafler DH 220 amplifier. I bought it to do the Musical Concepts mods on it. I completed the mods back in 1988. I've never heard this amp before modding it or after. For some sick reason, I just can't bring myself to sell it or even give it away.

You are talking about a major pain in the ****, digging it out, unhooking MIT biwires, connecting new speaker wires, not to mention no working space in or near the rack. . . not to mention needing a variac to wake it up slowly. . . bah humbug!!!

BTW I'm in Newark DE, not that armpit Newark NJ!:D

I'm hardy alone here in that, am I?
I did recently clear out most of the networking gear , two dozen servers,
and several large equipment racks out of the garage. Now's it's time to
clean out the gadgets in the office, too. Maybe throw out a couple of pc's.
I don't need one on every MS operating system ever made any more.

Another DFW Metromess Polkie here, if you need help dumping gear you let me know! I think your list of Goals is a good list but as long as you have closet space available then maybe a back-up device or two can't be all bad. Congradulations on loosing the 25lbs. it is hard work right? I think I am down about 30lbs. (not sure I don't weigh myself that often) but my 42-44 inch waist is down to 38!

whoa, my first separates (DH110 and DH220) bought in 1985, kept them until 2003 before I sold DH220 to Bruce (tour2ma) and DH110 to Jeff (forgot his CP ID) here. Yes, kept them in the closet all those times for memory-sake. Finally I had the one final farewell and tribute and moved on. They were paired with B&W DM110 back then...(sniff)
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

If this implies that you have more than one DAC, I might be interested. Kind of been wanting to give one a shot.
