How many of you use rear fill in your music? Do we need it?

Dont need it. The fewer speakers you have the better. In theory it sounds great, having some extra ambience coming from behind you but in reality it just screws up the sound.

Youre MUCH better off taking the money you wouldve spent on rear speakers and putting them towards a much higher quality set of front speakers. ;)

I do not use it nor would I. Music is recored in 2 channel stereo and the best way to liten to it is 2 channel plus by having rear speakers your **** with your sound stage which should be in front of you.

Yeah, I agree with this. Rear fill is a waste. ;) And IMO, with my SR5250 and JL w6,
having the gains of the subwoofer set wisely, it actually sounds great in the back too!

The purpose of rear speakers is to give passengers.something to listen to. My opinion is that when my passengers start paying for my gear, then I'll start worrying about their listening enjoyment. Until then, I'll concentrate on my listening pleasure. ;)

generally rear fill is a waste of ur time and $$ to setup.

but u can use it as ambient fill but only L-R attenuated would sound good. a regular L,R config would pull ur stage back... which iz bad.

Focus up front, and it won't sound too bad 1 metre behind you either. ;)
