Hello all,

1st post but I have been reading quite a bit on this forum lately. Great tips!

I am setting up a new 7.1 system and am pretty much sold on Polk, just don't know which ones yet. Hope you all can help with that.

The biggest concerns I have are with my fronts. I built cabinets along the front wall with the height approx 33 inches off the ground (to be used for storage and equipment rack). When I built it I had in mind putting in-wall speakers in the upper cabinets for the L&R's and a center in-wall up above the screen pointing downward. Then I was looking for better sound and came across the TSI200's with CS20 and the Monitor 60's and a CS2 to go up above. These would be placed inside the cabinets with a custom speaker grill for each. Then I was thinking that the Monitors may be too tall for placing in the upper cabinets, even if I angled them down. Then I heard a lot about sound quality by placing speakers in cabinets.

Now I am not sure. Go with Monitor's or TSI200's? Which is better? And what would I need to do to the cabinets? Sound proofing, etc

Go with In-walls? I will be using in walls for the side and rear channels and a sub.

Nice thing is is that the upper cabinets are not built yet so I can still customize but I think I still want them enclosed.

Thanks in advance for all your advice. Looking forward to hearing it all.
Mike

Welcome to CP....I wouldnt put the speakers "in" an enclosure of any type....the resulting sound will be terrible. Speakers really need their space to perform properly.
