Crown CE1000 amp for two channel service any thoughts?

I can get a deal on a Crown CE1000 . And I was wondering if anyone has used anything like this with success for home 2 channel enjoyment? As always ,thanks,Darryl

    Hi there Darryl, just like you I myself started working on a 2 channel system...I own a pro-audio equipment that consist on a ce-crown 1000....It's an awesome amp for dj-ing and pumps a lot of power but like the experts in this forum will tell you go for a high current amp such as carvers, adcom, parasound etc , that are commond ground amps..Just look around and research ...there is plenty of information aroung here...Good luck

    no. use for subs is acceptable for HT, they do amplify the signal and some do use them of course as everything has a countertrend for the mavericks. I use them all the time for what they are designed for........pro sound amplification of live music I would never put one in my 2-channel rig.

    I've owned Crown amps in the past and they are not the least bit refined for 2 channel home audio use. They are great pro amps but that's as far as I'll go with them.

    If you just want loud with beefy bass then they are for you. Just my humble opinion based on past experience.
