Wow, is that untrue. Lots of varieties of synthetic at my local AutoZone. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Lots of varieties of synthetic at my local AutoZone. True but not True...
Synthetic true Synthetic is not base by dino oil. I use Amsoil you can't get it there. If you can get Mobil One you're right. I prefer Amsoil oil over Mobil One but if they sell one of these yes is True.

... Picked up some 5w20 Motorcraft and Motorcraft filter and got to it. ...
You live in Georgia and are putting 5w20 in your car this time of year? In Houston it is in the 70s and 80s this time of year - how cold/warm is it there?
We would use 5w30 in the winter in South Dakota when it was regularily below zero. I don't think I ever used a 20 weight oil, but I did always use synthetics (and still do) like Mobile 1. -

Nah, Im still down with Ford. We use all Fords in our fleet at work and while they may have a minor fit and finish problem now and then, theyre pretty much bullet proof. We have 1 ton vans that we load up WAY beyond their capacity with kegs and cases of beer and run all over town including up a mountain and they run it with no problem. Yeah Im bitching about my Ford now but Ive never owned a car that didnt have 1 or 2 small issues. I had a Ram that the tranny started slipping - another Ram that the AC kept going out, a Nissan that had a wicked shimmy that nobody could ever find and my trusty Honda had an AC compressor that sounded like somebody dropping a sledge hammer whenever it would engage and always had a little hiccup under acceleration at 2200 RPM's. I did own a Suzuki Samurai that never had one single issue in 85,000 miles but then it didnt even have power steering so there wasnt anything to go out! Its in the high 70's to low 80's here now and itll get in the mid 90's thru the summer. But Ive always stuck with whatever oil the manufacturer recommends and Ford says use 5W20. My Honda and my wife's Mazda also call for 5W20. Not saying that is the best oil to use but until my 75,000 bumper to bumper warranty runs out, Ill use what Ford tells me.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

5w20 oil...
When I first seen that on my wife's Acura, I called the manufactor and they stated yes 5w20 I stated Sorry I didn't buy a BMW since the German's use OIL not 3 n 1 sawing machine oil. I use 10w30 Amsoil in it, and push it hard. I changed the oil to a 5w20 Royal Purple oil once and she never stated she liked the engine noise using it. I didn't notice a seat of the pants feeling using one or the other weight of oil.
The funny thing when I called the dealer which seemed to state 5w30 oil, when I stated the manual stated 5w20 oil they changed tune. I use 10w30 in it, have for 4 years now.

So I had my Ford in the dealer for 6 days and I got it back yesterday. I take it to them with a front end problem and they think its something floating around in the gas tank. After 2 days they figure out it is in the front and 4 days later they deliver it to me with a new motor mount.
This fixed the popping noise and feel when accelerating from a stop but did NOT fix the clunk that happens every once in a while when you accelerate from a slow coast nor did it fix the pretty stout engine vibration that comes thru the gas pedal at onle 1500-1800 RPM's.
To top it off, after telling me to bring it to them with an empty tank so they can fix that, they charge me for 2 gallons of gas at $7.50 a gallon to go do test drives......plus $1.40 tax.
So Im done with Ford. Im not going back to this crap dealership unless the transmission snaps in half or something else that would be easy for them to diagnose. And after a crap experience in buying this car, servicing this car and the build quality of this car, Im going to keep it and pay as much as I can each month til I get some equity in it and trade this piece of crap in on a Honda.
Im not going to say this means Ford sucks because we have a lot of Fords at work and they all seem to be pretty much bullet proof, but apparently the automotive gods simply not want me to own a Ford as this is my 3rd one and the 3rd straight piece of crap.
Its a shame too because this is a really nice ride. I think it looks good, its super comfortable and fun to drive. I just need a car I can pay off, keep and drive to Texas and back for 10 years without worrying about the wheels falling off and this one just aint it.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Hmmm..... I always stated it was hard to replace a Honda with something else after you own it.

Yeah it definitely was. The dealership was what was hardest to give up. When I bought my Honda, they called me afterwards TWICE to ask if I was still digging the car. Then they held an owners clinic where they had free food and drinks while they tell you about your car and their dealership and stuff. You take it in for a $30 oil change and they treat you like you own the joint. They told us if youre going on a trip, swing by and we'll give your car a once over, top of fluids and stuff FOR FREE! After every oil change you get a call from the dealership AND HONDA asking if you were satisfied with your service.
This Ford dealership acted like they were annoyed I was even there. I think it would be a good idea for Ford to crack down on their dealerships and the service they give. Whether you build a great car or not, if youd rather be anal raped by a wild boar than deal with your neighborhood dealership, its gonna hurt your sales by not having as many return customers.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

You better believe there's no way I'd pay for gas in that situation. Is there another dealership nearby that you can take it to for the other issues?

Yeah, I'd look for another dealership. Your car's got some issues, but they should be able to diagnose/fix them, not keep stringing you along and sending you home with your vehicle still not right.Jay

I looked at my records and it shows that I have changed oil on my 2000 Toyota Tacoma 56 times. It now has 242,000 miles on it and has only had a starter solenoid fail. I'm glad the filter is easy to get to. Dino oil every time and it still doesn't use a drop between changes.
