Which Polks?
These are in the local CL and I know they are at least Polks..... But I don't which ones or what condition there in. They're only $30. What do you think?

They aren't polks. There Advent Legacy's.
Still decent for $30. -

There are a lot of those around. A lot were sold years ago. For 30 bucks you can't really go wrong if everything is in 'working' order.

Yep, I've seen alot the Advents over ten years and they were generally taken care of like most Polks were. They weren't cheap so punks couldn't afford them.
..Elderly men are now passing and or downsizing (no pun intended) and they are coming out all over the place. I own a set I think is that pr. your showing too.I've owned other sizes to..I just love the wood trim! BUT, BUT, almost all of them need refoaming on the woofers. BUT they're worth refoaming. Or get a speaker from Parts express. Some say stick with their original woofer because they were and are good ones DESIGNED for their respective cabinets and cross-overs.
Go for em.:DMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I have a pair at my mom's abode hooked up to an HK receiver for her to spin her Patsy Cline records and what not. One of my favorite, cheap, old speakers. As stated, bag em, get em refoamed correctly, and enjoy.
There were a couple different versions, the early versions (better) had a 1 inch soft dome tweeter, later versions moved to a 1 inch mylar dome, which aren't as desireable.
Cheers,

Okay, now I understand - thanks! When I e-mailed the seller and asked whoever what brand speakers they were, this was the response I got, "They work but they are Polk audio subs and just 3 inch speakers". .....Huh?
I looked at pictures of SDAs trying to find a match but nothing looked like a match. The barely discernable logo on the base wasn't right, as was the given height. Having never really ever seen a vintage Polk up close, I didn't know what they were. When I responded about coming to look at them, the response was, "I can't do it until sunday I work 20 hours on sat but I will hold them if u really want them". I'm not sure I want them or not, could be a fun project and $30 isn't a lot to lose.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

Hmmm.... Bit of confusion here. I emailed asking seller if they were Advent Legacy's and the response I got was, "No, just regular speakers". I'll look at them on Sunday anyway....Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I don't think this guy has any idea what they are or what he has, lol. I would go with the guys on this one. Take a look at em and see if they worth the $30.

You should charge him for these idiotic e-mails.
The re-foam can be a bit of a pain in the a@@.
Assume that even the woofer appears decent it will need a re-foam.
Pretty sure mine was around $20. I would factor that in when you decide. -
