I am looking for a semi cheap Garage system to mess around with. Depends on funds at the end of summer (or year)

Heres what I am seeing

Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5460
Mains x 2: KLH 900b (and the newer model) - Plugged up to mains, and surrounds (running 5 channel stereo)
Subwoofer x 2: Possibly the PSW-202 or a MTX, not sure.
CD/DVD Player: Kenwood POS

This rig will be used for garage use, tired of going outside to listen to no music! It sucks big hair balls!!! lol! Anyways, probally will end up buying 2 PSW 202's, or 2 10 inch Ratshack subwoofers. No clue..

The Idea of buying 2 mains, and 2 subs is DJ usage also. DJ usage on da cheap dat is...lol

Have you considered real PA speakers? Just a thought.

Remember that what sounds loud in your 10 X 11 bedroom might not be so "in your face" 20 feet away and outside.

What are you using them for? What model are they, at least?

I'd like to use some for surrounds in a PL system. Face the top and bottom speaker away from eachother, wire the tops and bottoms out of phase, install a high pass on the top or the bottom (are they the same size or is one driver smaller?), and have myself a ghetto dipole.

I know you said one of them is being used for a center in your mom's den?

h/o. Ive used the KLH's to DJ before. They filled up a 50x50 room easily.

    here they are...
    http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F022%5F000&product%5Fid=40%2D5025

their being used as mains in my mom's system. But their for sale *about 10 dollars plus shipping. Thoughs are not the actually speakers, the ones I have arnt exactly mint, slight dints on the metal grill, but other than that, work fine.

I kind of assumed they were not the ones becuase you said the ones you have are good to 90hz, and look at the RCA's - 170hz, and that's by Rat Shack standards.

So if I make it look a little nicer, am I to assume?:

For sale - Radio Shack swivel speakers (look like Bose cubes, but definately sound better!). Great for surrounds or mains in a small system. Metal grile is slightly dented, but they sound fine. $10 plus shipping.

OK then. Just wondering - the current generation Rat Shack swivel speakers only extend to 170hz, but you claim the previous generation is good to go until 90? Hmmm.... Maybe we are adressing different models.

Well, all I need is something like the bose cubes that you can twist so the drivers oppose eachother.

    If somebody could identifiy these...

Looks like a fair candidate for a Tang-Band rebuild. That is if you like 'plastic' cabs....

    Cheers,
