I would be really PO if that is an indication of which city they'll pick up for Google Fiber pilot.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yes Google has quite the rep for April 1 pranks...almost as good as the 1957 BBC TV story (on U tube) about the bumper spaghetti harvest..we all know spaghetti grows on trees....

This is why April Fools Day in the Internet age is so lame. Every website feels like they HAVE to do something and you end up with the stupidest crap. If you don't have a good idea, just sit this one out.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I read something that topeka changed their name to google for the month of April... so as to vie for the right to be one of googles test cities for their hi-speed internet test.

Maybe google is being a little tongue in cheek here. who knows

I read a report that Topeka changed the name to Google for all of March as they were chosen to be the test pilot for the fiber network. Maybe it hasn't been solidified yet but from what I read a month ago, it sure seemed like the ink was already drying on the forms...

    Same here.

If that's supposed to be a joke...it's a pretty dull one. Topeka? What the hell is that supposed to mean? How is that a joke? That's just the name of a city in Kansas.

Read the article... If you don't just click the Topeka logo, click the link that says "Not in Kansas? Read this" or however they put it...
