I stopped by a church rummage sale as they were setting up last weekend, and spotted a set of Polk Monitor 5s. There was no price on them yet so I took them up to the lady working the cash box. She said $10. I have never pulled out my wallet that fast in my life. :D It turns out that the voice coil was frozen on one (which I read on this site is fairly common?), so I picked up a pair of MW 6502s on ebay for $55 shipped. All and all, I will have $65 into them, and will have a spare driver to boot!

Can anyone tell me how these will compare to my Paradigm Monitor 7s? I plan on continuing to use the Paradigms in the house, and the Polks will be for the shop.

I LOVE monitor 5 jrs so your in for a treat. The polks should be brighter or some would say clearer than the paradigms. You'll like em!

Church yard sales are a blessing from above!!!!!!!;):D

Yes they are, bought my monitor 5jr's from a girl trying to clean house before she moved back to Sweden for $15. Great find and a great little speaker.
