I am interested in Martin Logan speakers. I see that the Source and Source SE are on sale at AMAZON.com. Does anyone know what is the difference between the two? The Source is going for $965 each and the Source SE is going for $749. And how do they sound compared to the VISTA or VANTAGE?

There are 2 differences between Source SE and Source. The first is that Source SE features high-quality furniture-grade real wood veneer, whereas the Source uses a quality vinyl manufactured wood veneer. The second difference is that the Source SE does not come with the adjustable base found on the Source.

    Less cosmetics same sound

I just checked amazon and the source se is listed for $ 1397

I heard both the source and vista and did not think the vista sounded good enough to justify the price difference for movies. I just bought source se for $2100 with a five year warranty and think they sound good in just 2 channel HT

My advice would be to buy a used pair buddy because right now theres brand new source se cherry going for $1350 on audiogon or there is regular source starting at $995 .

I've owned a couple pair of ML's. Vantage and Spire. What makes you interested in them? They are not an average speaker you place in the corner and forget about them:D

An ESL Hybrid demands a certain positioning and if you don't have the ability to place them correctly, you can be disappointed.

Your talking about a speaker which once you hear it at home, you'll wish you went one step up! The Source is a very fine speaker and once you experience an ESL, it will be hard to go back to a box speaker.

The finish is a personal choice. The sound is what will captivate. Shoot over to here:http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/index.php to get regular owners opinions.

If you have the room and electronics, you will be very pleased!
