In case you're interested, the Norah Jones concert on April 3rd at the Tower Theater in Philly is being simulcasted by WXPN 88.5 in Philly. WXPN is the public radio station run by U. of Penn. Starts at 9pm Eastern Time. They have a web broadcast of their programming as well. Gotta check www.wxpn.org

WXPN is a decent station overall. Plays a wide mix of stuff, lotsa stuff that is not mainstream at all. They are a good compliment to Drexel University's WKDU 91.7 FM. They play lots of local and underground stuff. Sometimes, if the weather is just right though, Camden County Community College's WDBK on 91.5 will stomp on Drexel's station in the area and Drexel will do it's share of stomping on CCC's station as well. The CCC station has lots of stuff from Friday night dance parties to Sunday morning Gospel stuff.

All three are small potatoes compared to Temple's WRTI 90.1 FM. That is the local jazz station and they swallowed WFLN 95.7 when the station gave up the classical/opera format in favor of hot hits of the 70's, 80's and 90's. That really sucked. But WRTI is a great station to listen to.

Anyway, some good listening for those in the area. WRTI, WKDU and WXPN have simulcasting on the web although Drexel's doesn't seem to be constant but only for special events and specific shows.
