What dvd-audio player is best for xrcd's & 96/24/5.1?
I have xrcd and 96/24/5.1. They sound extremely excellent. They are highly different from ordinary cds and dvd-audio. You can hear the voice and every single instrument used in the music. I like the vocal the most. But my concern is this I need a better dvd audio player so that I can hear the other audio side of my 96/24/5.1. Do you have any suggestion to make?
Thanks in advance!!!

I thought XRCD was was just different mastering process, so it is independent of anything inside the player. Meaning you would buy a player for the 96/24/5.1 and the XRCD playback is there regardless.

Tater, you're right. But I need a player for my DVD V/A ( 96/24/5.1 ). I notice that everytime I put my DVD V/A to listen to the audio side of it, my player says that I need to remove the dvd V/A and put the other side of it to see the video. None of my player in my house can play the audio side of this dvd V/A (96/24/5.1). Do you know of any dvd V or A than can play audio ( 96/24/5.1 )?

There are lots of universal players out there. Some are pricey, some not. I'd recommend the Oppo BD80 or 83. They represent great value as BD and audio players.
Combo rig:
Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
PB13Ultra RO
BW Silvers
Oppo BDP-83SE -

DVD-Audios will play in ANY DVD player you will get the dolby digital 5.1 layer. A DVD-Audio player will have the ability to to play the advanced rez layer

Can you please name some of those players so that I can buy one for myselt too?

My players can play the dvd video side of dvd v/a (96/24/5.1 ) but not the side that has dvd audio.

This is what I am trying to say. Everytime i place my dvd V/A ( the audio side of it ) in my player, it won't play. But it plays the vedio side of it. That's the reason why I am looking for dvd audio player to see if I can enjoy myself listening to high resolution which is 96/24/5.1.

Check out Cambridge Audio , I have a Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD player and it's fantastic. XRCD's are extremely hard to find unless your online , I have a few , JVC did a great job there. I learned about them at a Show many years ago. I find it extremely close to SACD.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

I guess I'm confused? Can you give the name of this disc your having trouble with? What I'm confused about is you keep saying you must flip the disc. Is it a true DVD-Audio Or more like the very short lived Dual-Disc? I have some DVD-Audios that play both stereo and multi-channel, the stereo layer is 24/192 format and the M/C layer is 24/96 but i do not have to flip it's just a different layer on the disc -
