Hey 50, neither of these are much of a Vintage Polk, but no harm, lol. They are very similar spec wise, however there are differing opinions on which one is better. I own bot the Monitor 70's and the TSi 500's which are the same comparison to the Monitor 40's and TSi 200's. I also own the Monitor 40's and liked those as well. IMHO, the Monitor 70's win in a side by side, esp. for HT. The 500's are a very good speaker, and a much easier on the eyes than the 70's. For the prices the Monitors can be had for these days, they are hard to beat.

I agree 23. For the price the monitors are selling at, its a deal. That free`s up $ to spend someplace else..

The Monitor and TSi sound fairly similar. The TSi seem a tad more refined. The price difference usually out weighs the sound difference. The bigger difference is the build and styling. The TSi are surprisingly solid and have the nice lacquered tops.

I agree with skrol and prefer the TSI-200 by a smidgeon. They feel heavier and look a lot better too. Only your ears can decide if their worth the extra coin.
