The Shining in Bluray

My wife and I stuck our head in FYE's yesterday and I came across a BR of The Shining on sale for $15. We all know this flick, so no review there. The review is on the BR version:
What detail and clarity provided by the BR disc!!!!!
The opening scenes of the Rocky Mountains is phenomenal. Almost IMAX like. Within the movie, the subtle details hidden since this has last been shown in the theaters are revealed again. We were stopping and rewinding certain scene sequences just to check out detail or read things in the background, like signs or what brands of products were on the background shelves. The maze scene at the end of the movie just stood out. All of the dimly lit areas were visible in crisp detail.
Also, 5.1 sound is provided. At first, I only thought it was in stereo (plausible for a 1980 movie) because it is mainly a dialog movie. However, when the jet carrying the cook back to Denver landed, the surrounds reminded me otherwise.
A definite "buy" recommendation for anyone looking to update their movie collection.

I'd like to know about the sound, like the sound of the Big Wheel going from carpet to hardwood..... That was some of the best analog recording of all stinking time! I dare ya to doubt me!
