SDA crossover board connectors

I have an intermittant connection on the crossover board connector (of 2.3TL's if it matters). I've tracked it down to one specific wire.
Has anyone figured a way (short of buying a pin removal tool) to get the pins out of the connector on the wire harness side of the connector? I tried some dental picks with no luck. I think there's probably just a spring-loaded tab on the pin that I need to compress.
I figure all it needs is a slight crimp of the female pin to get a more solid connection.
