Do Acoustic Panels help much? I have seen these on the showcase, and i was wondering if the are worth adding these to my system. I`ve looked on line and i could buy a pair for not a lot on money. I would appreciate any info . i have a 6.1 system with monitor 60 front, center cs2, psw505,monitor 40 rear, and cs10 rear surround. Thanks in advance for the input. I was considering putting the behind the
M60`s.Thanks

Acoustic panels are probably the best bang for your buck investment to improve your sound. I have bought panels and made my own. It really isn't that difficult, even if you're not a handy man. Behind your mains is a good place to start as well as the first reflection point on the side walls.

Yes, they can make a tremendous difference. I made the panels in my HT room, but purchased panels for my living room.

Much more effective than any foam.

Thanks for all the information, the link to ATS was helpful. I`m still on the fence on this one. It does seem there are more positive comments in favor of Acoustic Panels . I`m glad i joined the club polk. Anything to do with audio there aRE A LOT OF knowledgeable members that have a lot of information to share. I probably will add the panels, the question is placement and how many panels. Thanks

Some folks subscribe to the theory that you can't have too many traps. Bass traps that is. I think one can go overboard with too many mid to high frequency absorbers placed in the wrong positions.

Bass traps have to be big and or thick to get any usable trapping out of them. I have more bass traps than the high frequency traps. The more traps I put in the room, the smoother it becomes and the transformation of one note bass to a defined bass lick or drum is goosebump raising!
