A member named dragon1952 had some opa627 op-amps for sale a few years ago. I just purchased the Onix XCD88 CD player and was wondering if anyone knew where to find more opa627 modules? My understanding is the upgrade does not require soldering and that the modules snap in place. If this is true boy would I like to find two sets for my unit. If anyone has info where to purchase the opa627 could you please share this information.
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks George for the suggestion. I looked but not being a true techey I could not find what appeared to be the correct Op-Amp. I guess I could give them a call however I am not sure I know all the proper jargon so if anyone does have a link to the correct Op-Amp (opa627) I would appreciate you posting it.
Thanks in advance. -
Here's the OPA627. I would advise buying the sockets as well.

Note: I am not in any way commenting on the mod or that the OPA627 is the correct opamp for your cdp. I am just merely giving you a source for the model OPA you asked for. If you have dual opamps you'll need to double your order.

P.s. I ordered some of these for my Adcom mod and the company seems excellent."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. H9,
Thanks. You perked my curiosity, your note seems to think that this may not be as good an upgrade as I have been left to understand or am I reading into it? I do have dual opamps so I will double order, thanks for the heads up.

I was simply saying that I don't know if the OPA627 is the correct replacement for your CDP. My post was showing you where to purchase; not that I knew for sure the OPA627 was the *correct* upgrade.
If you know it is correct then go for it.

I understand now. I am confident that this is a good upgrade. Dragon1952 was were I got the idea to do it myself however some after market up graders perform this same upgrade for more money than I want to spend. My issue now is I am not sure if the socket pin layout will fit my boards layout. What I have is two op amps glued together and set into a socket which is plugged into the main board. There are two sets of them. The op amps in person are really little. I am not sure I could even figure out how to pop them out of the board without a disaster. The Brown Dog site has a socket but it appears that once the op amps are plugged into it the pin spacing would be too wide. I sent them an e-mail inquiry to see if they have any experience with this upgrade. Thanks for you time. Any other thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.
