LSi F/X placement ????

I am adding two LSiF/X speakers to make a 7.2 system. The F/X speakers are behind my seating position.

Do I put the 'Left' speaker to my left, behind me (when I am facing forward) ?

Does it matter when I run them in Bipole mode ?

While facing forward (toward the main speakers), the left speaker would be on your left behind you.

    Thanks jimmydep

This reverses the speaker position relative to each other.

When the speakers are in front (or beside) you (with the Left speaker on your left), the left side of the Left speaker is pointed toward the Right speaker.

When the speakers are behind you, and the Left speaker is on your left then the right side of the Left speaker is pointed toward the Right speaker.

Running the F/X speakers in a Bipole configuration (where both sides of the speaker fire together), I don't think it matters. Unless I am missing something.

Running the F/X speaker in a Dipole configuration it would alter the intended 'dead zone'.

I recently picked up a pair of the FXs.. Should they be placed ear level or higher?

    Thanks

Typically you would like any speaker to have the tweeter about ear level for best results, but with surrounds it is sometimes difficult due to limited mounting options. Get it as close as possible and you will be fine, esp. with the LSi FX.

If you read any of Polks how-to articles they say rear surrounds should be at least 2 feet above and behind your ear. There are detailed instructions for bipole and dipole settings
