This just happened...

So, I stepped outside to let my fiance's dog out and have a cigarette, and he immediately found and killed a bird. (I think it was a bluejay, but it's not really that important) At this point, I ran inside to grab a plastic bag to retrieve and dispose of the poor critter. I came back outside and proceeded to chase the dog around with my plastic bag.

While this was happening, my neighbor's dog comes tearing around the corner of her house, with her chasing after it and yelling. I paused my own chase, and lured her dog up to my fence, to get it to stop running away from her. Simultaneously, I managed to get the dead bird away from our dog.

While I was doing this, my neighbor's dog seized the opportunity to bite me, twice. Nothing major, but a bit annoying. When she finally waddled up to it (she's skinny as hell, but waddles), she didn't even manage so much as a thank you. Even after her dog assaulted me while I was in the process of assisting her. All I was really expecting was a 'thanks,' is that too much to ask?

I'm sorry for posting something so random and mundane, but it is a bit of a funny image, in hindsight, and I had to tell someone. :)

You are in a much better area now I would say. I live in Beavercreek, but have lived in Fairborn, Dayton, and Kettering. Good and bad areas everywhere you go.
