I'm still on the hunt for a new TT, and I stumbled upon this. The description is kinda wierd, but it seems legit. What do you guys think, worth picking up or should I hold out for a Technics SL-1200?
I've seen some of the 1200's for sale, but they're a bit out of my budget so far. Thanks as always,

Dominic

    I'd hold out for a 1200.

Unless you know something about turntables and how to set them up....you can buy new (Pro-ject, Music Hall, Rega) for a very attractive price, plus they are plug and play. Buying a used turntable is probably the biggest crapshoot of them all.

Troy has hit the nail on the head. Great deals can be had with used TTs...but unless you know what you are doing it can be a total waste of money, time and effort.

I've definately learned that, but even though I'm still new to all this, its fun to get older gear to tinker with. I tore my Audio Technica table apart trying to make it work with some decent success. Plus, if I botch something up, I always have you guys to help me put it back together. New is intriguing though, I'll definately look into it. Thanks,
