What should I get
Been reading posts in this forum since I heard Polk speakers in June. Now's the time to buy. Either want the 60's or 70's and either the cs2's or cs20's. Not to make this to confusing but have also seen the TSI 500 on ebay would they be better? Newegg has the 60's on sale for a few more days, so I need to decide soon which combo. I can wait and see if the 70's go on sale or make the plunge on the 60's today. Price matters but sound is #1. I have Orb speakers now and plan on using their sub and the Orbs for side and rear for the time being. AVR is Yahmaha 665. Room is 20 X 16 with tall ceiling and tile floor. 70% TV/Movies 30% Music. When the wifes not home I like it loud. Can't find a store to A/B so all opinions are welcome.

i just want to remind you that the mon 60s are the black wood and the Cs2 is the cherry (the speakers that are discounted til the 29th). I havent heard the 60s, i originally got the monitor 50s and then upgraded to the 70s but the 70s are night and day better than the 50s are far as lows and for music. that being said its your preference as to what to get. maybe some 60 owners will chime in for you. My vote would be to wait on the 70s and if your going with the cherry grap the cs2 now. just my 2 centsOnkyo 808

I noticed the color difference and was going to start with the towers and wait for the centers. Just not sure which center I'd be better of with the 2's or 20's

You may want to stay within the series....some people have said that the CS20 is not a perfect match for M50,60,70s! That it doesn't mesh as seamlessly as the CS2 with them and vice versa! It goes without saying that the M70s are the flagship of that group!

The TSI are the "newer" verison of the Monitor line. However for the price difference and what you could save buying the monitor over the TSI you could buy your self a polk 505 sub and have a pretty good 5.1 system. I would say the M70's are great and they do come on sale a lot. Also check out Polk direct for the CS2's as they pop up there a lot and I think are cheaper than newegg, however have to add in shipping.
I would stick with the same line for everything like C said above and I don't think you would be disappointed with the M70's and CS2 -
I haVE THE M60`S FRONT WITH CS2 CENTER ,PSW505 SUB. SOUNDS GREAT, THE REARS ARE M40 And i added cs10 center to complete 6.1 system.i`m HAPPY WITH THE MONITOR AND THE 505.you could spend double the money for the same sound. the monitor is a good system at a good price. i spent the money i saved buying a nice tv stand ,i bought a ground loop isolator to stop the hum on the 505. i also bought a caBLE amplifier , it splits the cable signal then the aMP adds more signal . MY WIFE IS HAPPY THAT i finished my speaker system and have taken a break BUYING POLK FOR A WHILE.Marantz SR 7007

I guess I'm leaning to the center channel being a cs2, now just need to decide between 60's and 70's. Will use my orb sub and sides for now. Know how your wife feels mine's getting tired of my research.

over50. Which cable amplifier did you get and where did you get it?
Thanks Paul. -

I'm sorry, that is just too damn funny. You must be exactly like me. I upgraded my entire HT and spent about a week straight, from the time I got home from work until I went to bed researching. I kept bouncing ideas off of her, basically just looking for a price point reaction on her face, to which she finally replied, "just order something". Needless to say, I went about $1,500 over budget...oops, my bad.
As to your dilemma, if price isn't a factor, get the 70's. Like all things in life, size mattersSamsung LN52A650 : PS3 : RTi A7s : CSi5 : SVS PC12-NSD : Pioneer VSX-9040THX : Emotiva XPA-3 = -
Took the plunge and bought the 70's and cs2 and they arrived today (day early from Newegg) Will set them up this weeken and let everyone know what I think.

looking forward to hearing about your setup, I'm finally looking to make a similar pickup

Good choice smg, for the prices they can be had for these days, the Monitors are hard to beat. I have both the Monitor 70's and the TSi 500's and I actually prefer the 70's. The 500's are great too, but not worth the extra coin, IMHO. Good luck with the setup, let us know how it turns out.

OK, Hooked em up, fired em up with wife by my side and was told "they sound good" YES!!! The hard part is over ! Much richer then the Orbs and the cs2 center is sweet. Will give them a chance to break in over the weekend then see what they're made of.

Glad to hear you (and the wife) like them. I have had my 70's for a year and a half now and they just keep getting better and better. Give em time to burn in and enjoy.
