Well, one thing is for sure, the Monitor 11's (1st model of RTA's I was told here months ago) sound REAL good, even compared to my McIntosh XR1051's side by side.

Can I ask what a pair of Polks might sell for, their 'value' (posted elsewhere obviously unless a moderator says GO) here ?

Did you read the selling rules? There are no exceptions and it's bad form trying to circumvent the rules.

RTA 11T's in very good shape should sell for about $100-125 a pair. Post them on Craiglist or Ebay.

Please forgive me, but I am not trying to circumvent anything. Other web sites allow the asking of what something is WORTH, as they do not associate WORTH with a SALE.

I'm not selling 11's. I would buy some at that price !

This is what I was referring to, not the asking of what things are worth. You can ask all the questions you want, just not circumvent the rules for the sake of trying to sell something.

I don't see an issue asking about the sales rule as long as:

    1. He does not say what he is selling
    2. He does not give the link to the sale

Then there is the easy way around the rule.

Post a "Found on CL no affiliation" and the link to his sale.

Not trying to make an issue of it at all, he asked in his first post and I simply gave him a direct answer, then I answered his other question about what they could be worth.
Post a "Found on CL no affiliation" and the link to his sale.

I don't think we want people joining just so they can post a link to their sale, so I'd say that's a very bad idea. :)

I would never post here that there is something for sale which is really mine, not would I ask a friend to do it.

Yes, I understand the 100 post rule. I can understand that a post here about a 4sale post elsewhere (a pointer to a real post) might be considered a post here. I'm just trying to find out.

Back to music. I love my 11's ! Not for sale.

I also am asking am I allowed to ask WORTH, never mentioning sale ? I actually do not agree with other sites, but they allow this, even though they forbid 4sale posts. I say, nothing is worth anything unless it is bought/sold, but I don't make the rules (in that other site)

I agree about following the rules.

It just occurred to me that someone could do that and there would not be any real way to verify that it was that posters ad or not.

Generally Speaking -- you can check the completed box when doing a search for your item on ebay -- and you can see what it has sold for there in the past.

Plus -- if you do a google search for craigslist >> then put in your item in the search term box that is the first result in your google search >> that does a craigslist wide search for your term. so then you can see how much you item might sell for wherever it's listed in the US.

Or you could just ask here i guess.

    no offense traded

I guess just a misunderstanding. Except the title of your thread is Can I mention I'm selling Polks on CL ? so I don't how you can say you never intended to sell anything or put something up forsale.

But let's just let it go.

Enjoy your stay here at CP.

OP, also you can go to jaxed.com. Click on the 'mash' section, select electronics. In the description type in you model speakers. Do not enter a location. This will run open ended and show you ALL craigslist ads with your speaker model for sale.

How about we try and drop the attitude when conveying the rules or reminding folks of the way we do things around here Heiney9? Not everyone has been around for 10,000 posts to realize the forum dynamic and in reality, it's just a question....not a slap across the face. Thank you for understanding.

Mikey - Just post a direct thread in regards to the worth and good luck with your CL ad. It's not against the rules to ask questions in regards to Polk resale but it is generally frowned upon to post in the way that you did. I'd suggest you keep them but you can't keep things forever I guess. Don't be a stranger, take a look around and you may find all kinds of stuff to post about.

Wasn't aware my posts came across with attitude. But I won;t be conveying any rules to anyone in the future and so as not to misconstrue this post I'll add a bunch of......:):p:D:):p:).
