Picked up a HK 354 cheap. Works fine but no remote. Factory replacement is $100. Anyone use a universal remote that has the codes for the 354? Thx.y

I use a harmony remote with my 254. It is the one that is made for the xbox 360.. It works like a champ. They are still rather expensive for a remote in my opinion. If you do not need the enhanced options it is not really worth it.Front - RTiA5's

I have used Harmony remotes in the past as well, very good remotes. As stated above they can be a bit spendy, but will be about as much as the repalcement remote, but will control everything in your HT. Welcome to Club Polk.

I picked up an HK branded harmany a while back from the Harman e-bay store. Works great, and saved some money.

This is the one that I have and I think it works great.

It is a refurb but a squaretrade warranty is less that 10 dollars and their service is excellent. My first one broke (due to my toddler) just after the 90 warranty ran out. I emailed squaretrade and I kid you not I had 60 bucks in my paypal account in 5 days. The remote controls my HK AVR 630 just great; the only potential problem is that there might be one or two buttons that need to be learned, which you cannot do without the original remote.
Do you get it from cowboom? I have been very tempted to pick one of those up for the hdmi switching. How do you like it? I love my avr630 and it looks very similar in specs.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
