Now that I just purchased my preamp (Nakamichi CA-5), I would like to incorporate that in with my main system. I need recommendations on the following:

1. Use a Splitter directly into the amp (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-515)

2. Use the tape loop in the Nakamichi in/out to the amp.

3. Suggestions?

I'm really excited to see how this preamp sounds!! Thanks for the input!!

Hey, I don't know about the tape loop. In my Parasound P7, the tape loop bypasses the pre-amp, just in and out.

Great preamp, I owned one for damn near 20 years. Not sure about the ways you want to incorporate it. The tape loop probably isn;t a great idea if you're looking for maximum fidelity. I used mine in a strictly 2 channel rig in the conventional way. Not sure you can get maximum sonic benefit using it cobbled together in an HT rig.

Anyway you can just hook it up to one amp, one source and one pair of speakers rather than trying to cobble it into your HT rig?

Agree with Heiney, your going to lose the very benefit of having a pre by cobbling it with a receiver that may or may not pass thrue the signal untouched.
