Does anyone use the VM Series?
Been reading this forum for some time now and it's pretty much impossible to find anything written up on the VM30 or VM20 speakers.
I could have purchased any of the top of the line Polk floorstanding speakers, but the space requirements on both sides of the TV really restricted how deep a speaker I could fit. So I chose the VM30 for L/R and a VM20 for center. All reviews said I needed a good sub for the VM and this was not a problem. Typical usage is 95% Home Theatre use and needed 100% While the Wife Approval Factor in my decision.
I had stumbled upon the PolkEbay store for refurbs and found these speakers at an unbelievable price. It just sounded too good to pass on.
So, my question is, are these speakers just ignored because no real audiophile would buy them, and nobody on this board has them, or is there some other problem with this line that is unspoken?
Comments?

Some of these reviews were done by Club Polk members. Polk recently had a demo program for CP members and several of us participated.

I would not use the VMs in a 2 channel music only setup. I've heard both the VM30s and VM20s (with subs) in 2 channel rigs and they were good...but not great for that application. One can do better for the money IMO. However, they make great HT speakers."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I have tried them in my house, compliments of Polk Audio and I can tell you this.....for what you want them for? They are a perfect fit. WAF hit high marks in my household and these speakers are geared more for a home theater application which, for what they were built for, shine.
It sounds to me like you are the perfect candidate as to why these speakers were built and why Polk Audio has hit its targeted market perfectly. I have nothing bad to say about these speakers and I believe that you will be nothing but impressed.
They will hit the highs as well as some top rated and expensive speakers without breaking a sweat and hearing vocals is a no strainer. Blended with a sub [not even a killer one] the sound is sweet, flowing and robust when and where it needs to be.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Hey Shack,
Yup, I read all those reviews before taking the plunge. I was not aware that these were from the "free" reviewers in the demo program. Now I know.
I still am just wondering why there is little/no mention of them by anyone here on this forum. Are they not worth mentioning or does nobody have them.
I'm pleased with them for my home theatre setup, I was just looking for more comments, usage, suggestions here on these boards, but nobody talks about them.AUDIO

Thanks Treitz3,
I already have the speakers(see my signature) and everything you said is the reason I bought them. And at 1/3rd the price on the eBay store, I could NOT say no!
As you can see, the depth restrictions on the right side of the TV. You'll also see the DSWPro 600 in the back, and the two Front L/R Heights....

Not all...just some.howardru wrote:I still am just wondering why there is little/no mention of them by anyone here on this forum. Are they not worth mentioning or does nobody have them.
I think many here on this forum are more familiar with traditional speakers vs newer designs like the VMs. Most have an interest in HT but the background is decidedly audio...not necessarily A/V. I think the majority here at CP would prefer the LSi series over the VM series. I know I would take the LSi15 over the VM30 and the LSi9 over the VM20 (regardless of price)...and I have spent time with all of them. One has to really want the look and design of the VMs because I think there are better audio choices in Polks line, for equal or even less money. They are a good speaker...but not everyone wants to pay a premium for the slim/sleek look and design of the VMs."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais
