    They are RSII's, 1981-1983, $1450/pair, dual 10 inch acoustic suspension woofers, three 5 1/4 inch midbass, and a single Emit ribbon tweeter.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    I know, I found a set listed for $1200. He doesn't list condition. For $200 they could at least be a profitable project for someone!!!!!!!!!

    My Dad use to have a pair of those. Years ago but I do remember them sounding very nice. I think if the condition is decent those would be a steal at $200.

    I have heard them in the past and they do sound good!!! I am actually a big fan of the emit tweeter. I sitll run a pair of RS6b at work.

    A heads up, replacement tweeters are hard to come by and some vintage Infinities will need a refoam by now.

    Yeah, and a nice new car cost $10k (or less) then, too...

    The big Infinities were pretty decent loudspeakers; the "monkey coffin" Infinity speakers that mere mortals could afford were, to my taste, rather shrill-sounding.

    Never heard the RS-IIs but imagine they're OK or better than OK. The tweeters are a bit fragile; refoaming is not a big deal (although proper-sized surrounds need to be sourced for the drivers).

    OK, I thought the thread would last about 15 minutes. I fought as hard as I could. I called and he said that he had them in his home stereo. He doesn't know anything other than that they are speakers. He said he recently upgraded to surround sound. A guy is supposed to be there in 15 min. If he passes he will give me a call.

    That's a blast from the past ..... Russman mentioned the single EMIT tweeter and my neurons took a left turn and I started thinking, "Infinitiy had EMT tweeters (Heil) ?". :o

    A link for an old PDF brochure that talks about the EMIT tweeter;

    Heil = "AMT" (air motion transformer). Nice tweeters.

    The EMIT is a planar tweeter. Here's a lowish-end EMIT as found in a pair of RSb speakers (dump finds) taking up space in the basement. Need to refoam these someday...

    There are still a lot of fans of those old Infinitys. Get them if you can, and most likely they will need to be refoamed.
