Question for Rotel RSX/RSP owners

I'm researching the RSP1066 or the RSX1055 and am wondering a few things about the bass managment... Let me know if I'm understanding it correctly.
If I wanted to used analog cables between my CDP and the RSP/RSX I would NOT be able use a subwoofer? The processor would automatically run a full range signal to my mains even through they are set to small.
If I use the digital input on the RSP/RSX and use the DAC's in the processor then I can use the sub?
Am I missing something... I'm getting this info from this:
http://www.rotel.com/support/faqs/faqs-rsx1055.htm

thanks for any help!

tryrrthg,
Surf on over to http://www.htguide.com/ and search the club Rotel Forum. You'll find the answer your looking for.

There is a known Bass Management issue but it only involves the use of the 5.1 Multi-Channel input to the RSX-1055/RSP-1066, not the CD player (unless you hook up your CD player to your multi-channel input which is crazy to start off with)....
The problem with the BM is that the Rotel sends a full signal to all drivers making the bass sound overly powerfull or just out of whack. There is a fix however which requires removing two resistors, which you can either get Rotel to do it for you before you purchase a new unit or you can do it yourself w/o voiding your warranty (assuming you don't break anything else while you're at it).

Thanks guys! I'll keep reading to find out some more on the issue.
For music I will only be using 2 channels. I'm not a big fan of the multi channel music.
