After listening to ML source and vistas this weekend I decided to buy a pair of martin logan source because I didn't think the vistas were worth the extra money . I heard them in a 7.1 motif /fresco config and did not really think there was a huge diff with vistas for movies
My question would be what receiver should I buy because I have an onkyo 606 that I will be running them with when they get here tomorrow

By the way, you may want to go to the ML owners lounge. They will probably have some good advice as to what would be a good AVR for those.

ML owners all have separate processor and amp combos but the source can be driven by any receiver . One guy drives his with a yamaha 665
I think most polkies are more knowledgeable with avr's than others . I will shell out about $800 for something that has a good processor because I can add an amp later -
If you like Onkyo, upgrade to the TX-NR807 which go for around $800. In a store a month or so ago, I heard a Marantz 5004 running ML speakers. I honestly don't remember which model of ML speakers they were. But, they sounded good.
If you can afford a bit more, I've heard lots of good things about the Pioneer SC-25. But that is about $200 more than your price limit.
If I remember well, your focus is on HT. I assume you are sending signals via HDMI. I would recommend whichever AVR you get, has enough HDMI inputs to accommodate your various sources (Satellite/Cable, Blu Ray, PS3, etc.). I would recommend at least four inputs or else you will be stuck getting a HDMI switcher. -
I thought your wife said that your old Polks sounded better than the Source? Did you have a chance to listen to any other speakers?
