They very rarely come up for sale on the used market as I been looking for awhile, seems like folks hold on to these which is a good thing too. I pulled the trigger on the STI 500 should be here at the start of next week. Have listened to the STI and a few different Bel Cantos side by side and I like the Wyred sound hands down..but thats me and what sounds good to me, others might have a very different opinion here.

W4S amps get great reviews & the tweaks that EJ does to them seems to make them stand out sonically above other ICE amps on the market. I've been emailing EJ with my interest in his MC 5 channel amp (3x500/2x250). EJ sais that he can mod the unit to bring it's front two channels to match the performance of his ST-1000 amp which is his best. This way I'll have the best of both world...plenty of muscle for HT & a refined two channel amp to boot.

My ST 500 powering a couple of LSi9s sounds terrific, to the point I'm not thinking about upgrades anymore, just enjoying the music.

I've read, probably so has OP, that ICE amps have big synergy factor; the same amp can sound great or mediocre depending on the speakers. But apart from that cautionary note I say get the monos; you won't look back.
