Interest check for a Pioneer DV-563A Universal Player (plays CD, SACD, DVD-A, DVD-V)

First owner, bought it new from APL Hifi (www.aplhifi.com) several years ago. It is a dedicated mod for 2 channels stereo only, it has been paired with a Krell 400xi, MIT S2, LSi15, and REL Storm III. This is the heart of my secondary system. Price brand new with mod was $750. Reason for selling: lack of use and making space for a new modded player.

Original specs and review:

APL/PIONEER DV-563A (modified) specifications (as described by APL):

This is a high-performance Universal disc player, with additional modifications done by APL HiFi which include:

1. R-Core (R) power transformer, Custom built to our specs in Japan.
2. Various Power supply upgrades, including Schottky and HEXFRED, latest
technology rectifiers (specially selected for best sound), highest quality
Voltage Regulating devices and highest quality Panasonic capacitors as
we find them more neutral sounding.
3. Two DACs in parallel per channel for amazing detail and fuller, even more
analog sound.
4. Transformer coupled DAC (for the main channels) featuring custom
Lundahl transformers.
5. MOSFET output buffer stage for a very warm, relaxed and natural music
presentation. Some customers can not believe that there is no vacuum
tube inside this unit!
6. IEC power inlet.
7. Pure 99.9999% Solid Silver wiring for the direct signal path (Teflon
insulated).
8. Point - to - point wiring for the new analog stage. No PC Boards!

Comes with Original Box, Manual, and Remote (new, never been used, since I used a Sony Univeral remote).

Asking for $320 shipped CONUS. Let me know if you have any questions.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

At first I thought you were asking $320 for the player stock, I was thinking WTF? Then I saw the list of mods, those are some impressive mods! I bet it's quite an awesome player for that price.

It is a very resolving and awesome CDP. I've another modded CDP with tube output stage. This little unit compared admirably to that one, at 1/3 of its costs and no tube stage.

Is the player stereo only or will it output 5.1?
    Thanks, Phil

Hi Phil, the player has been modded to ouput stereo only (for dedicated 2 channels), Two DACs in parallel per channel. However, it still play progressive DVD.

Btw, this player does SACD in DSD format through and through.

Nice player. I have the unmodded "Elite" variant of this, and it sounds great! I've been keeping it just for the SACD playback.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

    Thanks Concealer.

Anyone? Any 2-channels system builder? This is as good as it gets without spending on CDP north of $1K. Granted that amp and speakers are critical too, but a revealing source is key to extract all the details.
