Does a Sub make sense in my case?
I'm about to get a AV receiver (Marantz SR6004) that allows for a 2nd zone. I don't think there would be any bass management on the 2nd zone, I want to set up a secondary 10x14 room for stereo listening only. I have older Paradigm 7se's that have 8" woofers, 1" tweeters. I'm toying with the idea of getting a Polk PSW111 8" sub to enhance the sound. Does this make sense seeing that the Paradigm's already have 8" woofers? Would it be a noticeable improvement, maybe a lower volumes?
I would have to connect the 2nd zone speaker wires to the spkr IN on the sub and connect the sub's spkr OUT to the Paradigms.
Any opinions?

Welcome to the forum!
I think a sub would be a good idea.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t -
A sub that goes down to 38 Hz is not really a sub...
Those speakers dig pretty low (60 Hz flat on the MKI, lower on MKIII). Try them without the sub first.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

I would give the 7se's a try before purchasing a sub. The Paradigm monitor line always had good bass in their floor standing speakers.DKG999

But if they go even into high 50's range, and you plan on listening to quite a bit of music, get a sub. Even a Lil Polk would be beneficial but if you look in the used market, I bet you could get a lot better for a little or no extra money. He'll, maybe just a bigger better Polk.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
