First i would like to tell you what i own & then we can go from there.I am interested in buying 1 of 3 different Polk Subwoofers to add to the speakers i already own.For the Fronts i own a Pair of RT800I speakers. The Center speaker i own is a CS400I.The Rear Speakers are the RT600I's.I would like to add either the PSW650 or The PSW505 or The PSW1000.I will be listening to both Music & Movies so i would like a sub that will do both of these without any problems.I dont want to overpower the speakers i already own too.But maybe all of these will be fine.Let me know what would be the best way to go.Thanks

+1 on the DSW series. The PSW505 is hard to beat for the price, but is mostly a HT sub. The DSW series is a much more musical sub than the PSW series, but they are a bit more costly.

No your talking, Ive not read any reviews on it, but the PSW1000 wasn't that bad so Im guess this DSW4000 is much better. too bad tweeter is no longer around to just go in and demo the high end polk.. I miss that store.Sony KDSR70XBR2 70" RPTV

dude, the PSW1000 is a monster and doesn't compare to the other subs you mentioned. The DSW4000 is a different story however. That thing is a beast too. No sub will be overkill for your system, IMO. The more power you have, the cleaner it will sound at all volumes. Those things come with a volume knob. Buy the best sub you can afford if you watch a lot of movies. Whats your budget? If you're looking at the DSW4000, you can get into SVS or the new Epik Empire. Check them out too.
