Hi,
This is a funny craigslist ad I saw today. http://cnj.craigslist.org/ele/1652968148.html
I think it's funny that he's proud it sets speakers on fire. WTF!

Wow, this is kind of funny actually. I had a pair of my speakers catch on fire last night. Though, I do doubt its from the receiver. Burning up gear shouldn't be a selling point though haha.harman/kardon hk 3490

He may be a jerk but some of that old Lafayette stuff is ballsy. For $225, might be worth it just to have it. But for $225, it'd better be in perfect condition otherwise, I'd give him $150 for it tops.
They run about 200 watts per channel. Spec was 100 watts per channel but they seem under-rated. They started making them in 1977 and I'm not sure when they stopped. There was a whole line of Lafayette receivers. The LR-5555 seems to be a more popular model but honestly, they were all stout. Can't find much info on the Intarwebs about it though.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
