Amazon has pre-orders for his new CD (Emotion & Commotion) for $9.99.
http://www.amazon.com/Emotion-Commotion-Jeff-Beck/dp/B003405MF6

The regular list price is going to be $19 so almost can't go wrong for that price, especially if you order a couple other things to get free shipping.

You can preview one of the tracks at jeffbeck.com

I never really listened to beck in the past. I caught a live performance the other day on Paladia, dish network music channel, and I was very impressed. It was the live at Ronnie Scott's. I will be looking into more of his work after the performance that i saw.

Thanks for the heads up! Live at Ronnie Scott's never gets put on the shelf in my house, it just gets played too much. Beck's finesse and emotion is astonishing! His guitar almost sounds like a horn sometimes. Just ordered the new one:)

This thread is great. I was going to post something about this Jeff Beck CD I noticed today. I hadn't heard it yet so I put it in and wow, it was realy great.

It was Jeff Beck "who else"..from 1999

Just watch the volume when you hit play! My CD starts playing as soon as you hit play...no pause or build up, just instant music playing.Kinda weird.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I read that thread but I didn't think or I don't know if this one CD is engineered bad. This disc sounds great to me.
And since it's from 1999 I don't know if they were pegging the recording needles on it.The other thread was mentioning newer releases, so I posted in this instead of making one of my own.
This Thread was on the main page yesterday just above or below (probably) the one you show and I read compliments on his style in this one, so again I wanted to compliment what I just heard a couple of hours earlier.;):)

This is probably my favorite concert video of any type or any format of all time. I lent it to a friend, and I really need to get it back. It's actually so good, that I'm thinking about just turning the loan into a gift and buying myself another copy.

I just got "Emotion and Commotion" and it is Amazing! There are several really good songs on there and the recording it top notch too. My favorite is Track 6 called Serene and track 2, Hammerhead. These two songs have so much drive and ummph. And on the last song, his guitar merges with an angelic female vocalist. It get tricky telling the difference between her voice and his guitar. This CD is a must have!
