RT55 Tweeter replacement?

Hi all
I have an opportunity to pick up some RT55 locally for decent price. I was able to test them in store, and it appears that one tweeter is out. It seems they are called the "Tri Laminate" tweeter. Is there a model # that goes with that? Is there different models of that named tweeter. Does Polk sell a replacement? or upgrade? and last, any recommendations on caps for replacement in the XO?.
Geesh! is that enough Q's for one post?

HI, From what I've read they don't make the trilaminate tweeter anymore. I think the replacement is a silk dome tweeter. Unless you can find some used you might have to replace both of them so they will sound the same. Give polk a call and I'm sure they will steer you in the right direction.

the replacement for the RT55's is the SL6506's (silk dome). They run $70 each, Polk member $$, from Polk CS.
As far as caps, Sonicap's Gen 1 are really good for the tweeter circuit, Dalton or Solen for the MW circuit, unless youo want to get into some more serious $$.

Thanks to both for your response and input.
To have to replace both tweeters would be an overkill investment in these speakers. Purchase price plus $140-150 for tweeters is more than I want to spend. I will search for a trilaminate used, then it might be equitable. any thoughts on the RT55 itself?

Curious as to what the original tweeter part # was? I found some SL6001 in the net, $40 pair NOS? Is this the tweeter, or will it work?

I'd call Polk and ask what the original was. Off the top of my head, I don't think that is the correct one for you. It should physically look the same as what you are replacing. The RT55 doesn't have the large round mount like that, its a smaller diameter and I think it clips in from behind the plastic baffle.
