Free to good home - Magnepan MG-1 IMP

I have a pair of these speakers in excellent cosmetic condition - light oak frames and off-white socks. The tweeter sections need a rewire.
I have all the wire, aluminum solder, new terminal strips, spray adhesive, and UV protectant. What I don't have is the time to do the project, plus we're moving.
So, if someone in the Baltimore-DC area wants to grab these and bring them back to life (a 10-20 hour project), they're yours for the asking (and picking up.)
I can't ship them or hold them longer than mid-June.
The MG-1 series were the first pair of "high end" speakers I ever owned in the early '70's. So, these have a warm place in the heart and it would be an agony to toss them out.

Its very hard to let go of any planar speaker because the sound so unconventional
I wish I was near because I would have already been driving to your house to pick them up -
I'm in Columbia, Md
I would like to try and restore them if possible....
if no one else claims.
I'll PM you. -
What a sweet Karma! Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

jvc PM'ed me and is going to pick them up here locally. I don't have the original boxes and inserts, nor the time to ship. Our house is stacked full of items staged to move. Thanks for the interest.

Thanks for the heads up.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
