Help with HT Front/Center
I'm trying to put together a modest front/center/sub system for the simple home theater in my family room to go with a Panasonic 50" Plasma and an Onkyo SR-707. Probably 90% TV/movie watching and 10% music. As we've got a 5.1 system in the basement, the wife will only allow what will fit in our TV stand + a sub in the corner behind it. The constraint is that the shelf is only 44.5" wide and 8" high. Based on how the room is setup, the TV is in a corner of a rectangular room.
So, am I better off using a CS10 flanked by a pair of Tsi100's (only about an inch between the speakers) or skip the center and just do a pair of Tsi200's?
I was thinking the PSW505 or PSW110 for the sub.
Thanks,
Jeff

Welcome to Club Polk Jeff, if you are limited by space issues the CS10 and TSi 100, will work just fine. If you are going to be doing mostly HT, the center channel is a must IMHO as abouit 50-75% of any movies soundtrack is formatted to be played by your center. The 505 may be a bit of overkill for the small bookshelves you are getting, but like the old saying goes "anything worth doing, is worth overdoing" The PSW10 would probably be the more "practical" choice, but for $250 shipped from Newegg that 505 is hard to beat. Besides, you can always turn it down, and if you ever decide to upgrade the mains, the sub will still be good to go, instead of having to replace that too..
