Any midwest trail riders here?

I used to do a lot of BMX riding (flatland and street with a little dirt every now and then) when I was younger. I also enjoyed doing mountain bike trail riding, but never got big into it as I didn't have a bike cut out for it at that time (Old GT before they became pacific and crappy). I've been thinking about trying to get out and ride again and was looking at getting a Kona or Specialized but was looking to see if anyone does any trail riding around the midwest and have suggestions for some to hit up.
I would be looking for some good single track routes that I could get to on a weekend and hit up. Doesn't have to be super technical, can be a more easy ride, but I also do like some harder stuff if I'm feeling like it.
If anyone has suggestions let me know! There is like one little trail by me but its pretty easy, you can ride it on a fix gear with no problems. I'm in central WI so anything within a few hours drive would be good.

I think Dan (Mantis) is into it, if I remember correctly...FWIW, my wife & I do alot of ATV'ing--I bought a couple of books on trails; might be a good idea to look for those type books for your area.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I LOVE Kona's. Before I got really big into this hobby I was planning on getting me one of these http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=stinky however then things came up and I ended up missing out a really good deal on one and then it was pretty much winter and no riding then. I'm still looking into maybe getting one in the future if I can find some decent trails to hit up around here. If not then I'll stick to a hardtail as I wouldn't need something like this for most of the riding around WI that I've found. -
I had both a Stinky and a Stuff at various times... The novelty of the Stinky wore off pretty quick. It was a great bike, but i think i just prefer the raw-ness of the hardtail.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
