Best 6.5 components for around $200?

Now that Alpines are toast I'm going to have to get a new set of speakers. My budget is around $200. I think my best bet are MM6501's, but just wanted to make sure that I'm not overlooking any good alternatives.

If I had the money I would go with Polk SR series but the cheapest currently is $400 at Fry's, and no telling when they'll go on sale again.

Alpine SPX-13PRO 5.25 components on sale for $280

I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with these speakers, and see what you guys would recommend in that price range.

The Alpines are a bit out of my price range only going to consider them if they are the clear winner. I think it's really between the Pioneer's and the Polk's.
Setup:

PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

I would say wait for the SR but the MM6501's are a great choice. I think CDT audio makes some nice comps for around $200 too.

The SR's are 5.25" as Dskip was pointing out. The 6.5" SR's are off the market. I know because I've been looking for another pair.

I would just get the mm's. At $ 200 there aren't too many options that would sound much better.

Yes the SR 6.5's are no more so you'd have to go with the 5.25's which are still kick add speakers. The MM's are very nice. I'm probably going to get some MM coaxials for my new car while I decide if I want a competition system or not.

Few things. Mainly because I've got a baby now and need as much room as possible.

2nd would be money. It's pretty expensive to compete and that goes back to having a baby and needing as much money as I can get.

3rd is almost none of my buddies are returning and that sucks.

4th is drama. A lot of crybabies out there and I het tired of listening to them whine but thats remedied by not reading forums.

5th is checkbook competitors. It's frustrating for guys like me that do all their own work and tuning and have to compete against guys that hire NASA to design and tune their systems for them.

So while I love car audio tuning and tinkering, there are times I question if its worth it.

I had the type R's (one step up from the spx) for about two weeks and couldn't stand it.

Are you sure it's one step up? i used to have type-r in my older car and the new SPX-13PRO sounds much better
