You can probably buy one from Polk customer service, but if it sounds fine, I wouldn't waste the money. It's probably like $40.

If you're feeling frisky, use a vacuum. I'm a musician and recording engineer and have fixed speaker dents in some studio monitors I've had by just barely using a vacuum on the dents to pull them out. You gotta be quick about it, though. And of course, use a hose...not the entire vacuum. :D

Worst case, you end up having to buy a new tweeter, anyway.

Thanks but I tried a vacuum already and it did remove about 25 percent of the problem.

I took Zeros advice and contacted Polk but they have not responded yet.

One trick I heard about is doing what some people do to remove small dents in metal. Warm it up with a hair dryer and then spray it with one of those compressed air in a can like Wal Mart sells. You have to hold it upside down so it will freeze. But before I do that I want to find a source for replacement.

When you say you contacted them, did you E-mail them or call them? Calling them is always the best option as I'm sure there is quite a backlog on E-mails. They will get you hooked up.

Yeah, you should definitely find a source for replacement first.

Another idea to try is to take something sticky that won't leave a residue and touch it to the dome on the tweeter and pull the dent out that way. May just work. No harm, no foul.

Polk does want $40 for a replacement. Hmmmmmmmmmm........... I may look for a set of used 40s on ebay and then I will have plenty of replacement parts.

i dont know what type of flange the tweeter is mounted on,but i just fixed the tweets in a pair of R10's 3/4" domes,i just open my mouth around them and sucked(sounds funny ,but its true)if you can get a good seal around the flange your in business.
