RTi6 overpower for surrounds?

As you all might have read, I recently purchased RTi8's and CSi5 for my new front speakers. I was wondering if you guys thought that RTi6's would be overpowering for use as surrounds or rears? Would RTi4's be more appropriate? Would the newer RTi A series be a step up?

They would not be overkill. I would use the 6's.

i dont think the 6's would be overpowering. i have the A5's and the A3's as rears. These are basically the same as you rspeakers and are only the newer model. i think it sounds great. At first I was worried about the size. The A3's are pretty big for surrounds. I got some speaker stands and they worked our great.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4

I used to run some RTi8's and a CSi5, with RTi6 surrounds. I never once felt that they were overkill.

    I never had the 4's for comparison...but I didn't really need to.;)

As far as the RTiA series being a step up? Yes, and no. They sound better...but very incrementally so. The RTi6's have about 95% of the performance of the A3's.

If you're looking for a step up from the RTi series...moving to the RTiA series won't really give you much of an improvement IMO.

See my sig line. The Rti6s are great as surrounds but you could save some coin and use the RTi4s in the rear. If you are running 7.1 then consider the 4s in the rear and as mentioned FXi3/5s as your side surrounds.

The rti6's work just fine for the rears. I have been using mine for over a year and am very pleased.
