First of all I would like to thank you guys for some of your help within my short time here on this forum. Ok here's the deal. I just received my bookshelves I was gonna use as my surrounds. I bought them from Polk Direct. I hooked them up and the woofer in one of them is blown. I already contacted Polk though email as they are closed on Saturdays which is no biggy. I was just wondering from experiences that maybe any of you have had, does Polk usually have you send the speaker in question back to them or do they send the replacement? I was just curious because I was so anxious to get them and now I have to wait some more, damn my bad luck lol. oops refurbished speaker blown*

^It's the woofer that is blown...the tweeter in the speaker works fine and the other speaker of the pair works great!

Just contact Polk CS on Monday.

They might have you send the speaker into them to be looked at...but most likely, they'll just send you a new driver.

    What speakers are they?

You might want to try taking the woofer from your other speaker, and putting it in place of the blown woofer. If the other woofer works when you swap it with the faulty one...that means your issue is with the woofer.

If there's still no sound, that means it's most likely an issue with the crossover.

Are your speakers bi-wireable? If so, make sure that the jumpers are in place between the two pairs of inputs on the back.

Thanks! I totally forgot about switching them around to make sure it's not the crossover.

I just switched the woofers around in the cabinets. It's definitely the woofer not the crossover. The bad woofer was still bad and the good woofer sounded great in the bad woofers cabinet.:D

They are the Tsi100s. Like is said I switched out the woofers in the cabinets. The bad woofer is bad in both cabinets. The good woofer plays well in both cabinets so its gotta be the woofer.

Oh and almost forgot, this wont keep me from buying from them. I also bought my front towers from them a few weeks ago as well. Those were absolutely flawless and got them dirt cheap:D These things happen...just that it happens to me too often it seems...with everything not just audio gear:o

I had a pair of woofers in some on-wall speakers damaged in an earthquake in Turkey back in the mid-90s (fell off the wall!); Polk shipped me new woofers after I sent a letter asking if they still had them in stock, FREE OF CHARGE. The speakers were WAAAY out of warranty~

I recently bought some RTI A7s off of polk direct and they were absolutely flawless, not a scratch, ding, dent, smudge...you get the picture. They were as new as new can get. Just bad luck. I will tell you one thing, Polk has some outstanding customer service. Good luck
