A Cache of Tubes!

Hi All,
I decided to stop into a local 2nd hand store (this particular store is more like "junk store") to see if I could get lucky and find something audiophile for, like, $5. Just before leaving, a half dozen boxes of tubes were noticed in a neglected corner. It looks like they had been there for a very long time.
Several hundred of tubes there! Most, if not all, appear to be American brands (RCA, Sylvania, etc) and I would guess 1950s and 1960s vintage. They appear to be brand new (in boxes, no darkening of the glass, etc) and tend to be larger sized ones.
It would be a shame to see the tubes of interest for music use go to waste there ... and perhaps eventually thrown out to make space. I know very little about tubes but will offer to dig though this cache to pull out the gems for anyone that is interested.
Here's what I need to get started:
* Make;
* Tube number;
* Any other info you deem pertinent (like I said, I don't know much about tubes).
This is an opportunity to stock up in a yard sale situation. Both on sought after tubes, as well, as "lesser grade" but good to have around tubes too.
Let me know if you are interested. The cost would be what it costs me to buy and shipping. Most tubes there are under $10.

To briefly update, an activity my son & I were attending fell through and we decided to take a preliminary look see in the referenced local "junk store" since we were driving past. One box of boxed tubes and one box of loose tubes were perused before it closed.
George Daniel and daboyz are "in the money" with a 6CG7 and a 12AT7 tubes found! Total cost per: $1. These came out of the xerox box containing loose tubes. They appear used as evidenced by darkening of the glass and some very slightly bent pins.
While perusing, I found some very close number matches to the tube numbers so far listed:
12AT6;
12AV6;
6CG8;
6cG8A.
Any interest? -
Thanks for being so generous!:D
I didn't see anyone ask about 6SN7. If you find any of these I would be interested.
Best regards,Carl -

You are first dibs on any of that series found! -

6AK5/6AK5W/5654/CV4010 All of these are also interchangeable.
Thanks again.

You have first dibs on these, except 6DJ8. George Daniel mentioned this number first ... so you are 2nd. -

Thanks! I sure do appreciate it.

If you don't mind I'm trying to get ahold of EL34, 6CA7, or KT77. They are a larger tube and should look like this.

If available I would like 6V6s, after H9 that is, and any 6DJ8/ECC88/E88CC/6922/7308 and most imoprtantly Siemens E188CCs and Siemens CCa. Also, any KT88 and 6550 tubes. Thank you for offering to buy them and then offer them to us.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Chargerman426, headrott:
Duly noted.
To comment to all, if there are cross over tube numbers, then list them as you post. The order of priority of who gets first and subsequent dibs on the specific tube is determined by the order who lists the specific number.
It is observed that some savvy posters have already done this, so it is felt fair to remind all. Of course, some of you single tube number posters may prefer that particular number and I am cool with that too! :cool:
Also,
Chargerman426, any relation to Lightman1? -
Nope no relation
so if I follow you rules then I want
EL34. 6CA7, and KT77
6CA7, KT77, and EL34

Yes -mostly. I quick checked my list, but will not bother to double check if you are first or 2nd to 100% of what you earlier posted for full verification. What you posted earlier (separating the number by a slash "/") was quite sufficient.
I am on top of what tube numbers who posts first and the "/" is recognized as a distinction. The final list will be posted Friday night. -
Hillbilly what's the status of the tube hunt?If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

Doing the "big dig" tomorrow. My daughter needed to be taken back to college today from spring break, as she announced yesterday she needed to get some things done around her apartment before classes kick back in on Monday. (I suspect new boyfriend sort of thing ...).
With last night being her last night home a while, we gave the HT a workout as it was declared "movie night". HT is such a great family activity! The Polks acquitted themselves very well in a movie marathon sitting!
Here's the list of tube numbers posted thus far and who has dibs (by order of who called for which specific number first):

As stated last Sunday, George Daniel and daboyz have spoken for tubes found with a 6CG7 and a 12AT7 sitting on my desk during a very incomplete preliminary look see. Cost $1 per tube plus S&H.

Here's the results from the scavenger hunt at the junk store today.
daboyz: 1 - 12AT7. While unboxed, closer inspection suggests that it is unused. My cost $1.
Dogfish: 3 - 6AK5. 2 RCAs NIB. 1 GE unboxed, appears to be unused. My cost $5.
George Daniel: 2-6CG7. 1 unused GE in a Sylvania box and 1 definitely used, brand unknown (remaining ink suggests RCA), unboxed. My cost: $3.
PM me re shipping particulars and any advice as to how to pack for shipment. Since the number of finds in this cache were so few, I declare this a Karma! If we hook up some time in the future, you can buy me a beer. -

Thanks for the kind words. At CP, it is offered that we are a club provided at the good will of Polk Audio. Hence, we help everyone out.
